How do estestimote beacons work with Bluetooth?
Estimote Beacons don’t use Bluetooth in the “classic” sense of pairing or connecting to them, like you pair and connect to a Bluetooth mouse or headset. Instead, they do something described in the Bluetooth spec as “undirected advertising”.

How do I connect to estestimote beacons?
Estimote Beacons are Bluetooth Low Energy devices, so if you want to connect to them, you do it over Bluetooth. Note that this is slightly different from “pairing” with a “Classic” Bluetooth device, but we won’t bore you with the details.
What is iBeacon and how does it work?
iBeacon is a Bluetooth advertising protocol (“packet”) designed by Apple. Apple’s own introduction to iBeacon is available at developer.apple.com/ibeacon. iBeacon has native, built-in support in iOS, via the iOS Location Services and the Core Location framework.
