citizenM is the first and only hotel built entirely from prefabricated rooms. Just like the production of a car, we first started sketching a blueprint of the room.
Why is it called citizenM?
Amsterdam-based agency KesselsKramer helped create the name, design, communication and brand philosophy for a new chain of affordable luxury hotels—citizenM. The name comes from a term the agency invented for the type of guests it would attract: mobile citizens of the world.
Who designed citizenM?
Designed by Gensler Seattle, the 264 guestrooms are comprised of 228 modules, which were fully finished in the factory to significantly reduce the environmental impacts of traditional construction due to traffic, air quality, and emissions.
