What happened to the TAKS test?
It replaced the previous test, called the Texas Assessment of Academic Skills (TAAS), in 2002. From 2012 to 2014, the test has been phased out and replaced by the State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR) test in accordance with Texas Senate Bill 1031.
