Can you get Colief on prescription?

DO NOT prescribe Colief®, Dentinox Colic Drops® or Infacol® due to the limited evidence of their effectiveness. Parents should be advised to buy these products over the counter from pharmacies if they want to try it but should be made aware that the evidence supporting is limited.

What’s better Colief or Infacol?

I’d say try infacol first – it’s much easier to use and cheaper as well. It works for some babies really well but not for others. I’d say if it doesn’t work in a few days then try colief. It’s a bit of a pain to use especially if you’re breastfeeding as it has to be mixed with milk but it really seemed to help my baby.

Do you have to wait 30 mins for Colief?

Add 4 drops of Colief® to the warm (not hot) formula. Wait 30 minutes, shaking the formula occasionally, then feed the baby as normal, making sure the formula is at the correct temperature. Colief® works best in warm milk. Colief® should not be added to milk at refrigerator temperature.

Can you use gripe water and Colief?

Yes I have used Colief and Gripe Water together, theya re completely different medications and can be taken together. I wouldnt say the Colief would work for wind but its great if you think your baby is lactose intolerant. Both my babies have had lactose intolerance and reflux.

Can you use Gaviscon and Colief together?

Hi, yes you can use both together. I have had it recently for LO and the gaviscon worked well in keeping the formula down – LO has severe reflux and it is worth a try.

You can stop using colief once symptoms of colic have stopped or when weaning is well underway. Most babies colic gets better when they start to be weaned. We did try to stop the colief when dd was about 4 mths old, but she started getting symptoms again so had to go back on it.
